2008 Law Enforcement Outreach Trips
Guatemala - March 1st - 7th, 2008
Colombia - August 16th - 29th, 2008
To be announced - October 11th -17th, 2008
Purpose:
Since 1997 Peace Officers for Christ International has been leading teams of United States law enforcement officers on outreach trips to the police officers of Russia, Mexico and many countries in South and Central America. These trips are funded entirely by the participating US police officers and therefore POFCI is able to provide all training to the host country at no charge. POFCI has averaged between four and six trips each year since 1997 and during this time thousands of police officers have been trained in tactics that will make them safer and trained in ethics that will equip them to better treat the citizens that they serve.
We believe that the best police officer is a Christian police officer. We also believe that Spirit-filled Christian police officers can effect in a positive way the view that citizen's have of their government, their country and their society.
POFCI members participate in these trips in order to provide free training to, and to share the Gospel of Jesus Christ with, our brother and sister police officers in those countries that we visit. The goal of this training has been to share officer safety tactics as well as the importance of moral, ethical and character values with our brother and sister officers.
Training is based on the requests of the local agency's police commanders and is specifically tailored to the needs and skill levels of the student officers. The type of training ranges from basic officer safety techniques up to and including advanced tactical techniques. During all training POFCI instructors stress moral and character values to the students; and we teach that a complete officer is one that knows and practices physical, mental and spiritual skills. POFCI instructors incorporate the origins of governmental authority and law enforcement authority into the courses; explaining the critical importance to the well-being of a society for law enforcement officers to practice proper use of authority and force. All training sessions include personal testimonies from US law enforcement officers regarding career survival, proper balance in life and the positive role that a relationship with God can have on their life and their law enforcement career. Additionally each student is provided with a free Bible and they are presented with the Gospel of Jesus Christ.
Peace Officers for Christ International does not represent any church, nor do we represent any government during these training and outreach trips.
Please contact us if you would like to participate in a future trip or if you would like to support Peace Officers for Christ International in these law enforcement mission trips.
